HLSL (High-Level Shading Language) is a programming language used to write shaders for graphics applications, primarily in the context of DirectX-based systems. HLSL is used in graphics programming for games, simulations, and other real-time rendering applications.
Here’s a simple code sample of an HLSL pixel shader that applies a basic color to each pixel:

In this example, the pixel shader takes an input structure VSOutput, which contains the screen space position of the vertex passed from the vertex shader. It also uses a constant buffer ConstantBuffer to store shader parameters, in this case, a single color.
The main function main is the entry point of the pixel shader. It simply returns the color parameter color for each pixel, which will be the output value.
Note that this is a basic example to demonstrate the structure of an HLSL pixel shader. In practice, shaders can be much more complex, involving lighting calculations, texture sampling, and other operations to achieve desired visual effects.
